Appendino (M5S): "Meloni is obeying Trump on everything, including tariffs, weapons, and gas."

Chiara Appendino (M5S) launched a harsh attack in the Chamber against the Meloni government's handling of tariffs and industrial policy, highlighting the difficulties facing Italian businesses.
During the debate on the Security Decree in the Chamber of Deputies, the vice president of the Five Star Movement accused Meloni and Minister Urso of abandoning the national productive system precisely at its most difficult moment: "Punishing those who do business has now become your specialty. The bridge to the US? Just a drawbridge that lowers to buy weapons and gas, but rises when our companies should be benefiting."
Appendino also recalled the worrying figures of the crisis: "26 consecutive months of collapse in industrial production, 250,000 businesses dead in 2024, and double the number of workers affected by corporate crises." He accused the government of responding to businesses' demands "only with slogans, without a real industrial plan."
